Say Cheese!

“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely,

every hundredth of a second.”

Marc Riboud

“Photography, as we know it, is not real at all.

It is an illusion of reality with which we get to

create our own private world.”

Arnold Newman

“My portraits are more about me than they are the people I photograph.”

Richard Avedon

“To photograph is to hold one’s breath,

when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality.

It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes

a great physical and intellectual JOY!”

Henri Cartier Bresson

52 Smiles: March’s Challenge

Hi 52 Smile Folks!

Let’s spread some smiles with BOOKS!!!

BOOK LOVE IDEAS

1.  I love THIS IDEA!!!! via Jodiefied

2.  Attach a ribbon and note to an inspirational book.  Leave it for a stranger to find and enjoy!  We used 365 Ways to Live Happy: Simple Ways to Find Joy in Everyday for our surprise-a-stranger gift.

3.  Go through your kid’s library and collect books that they have outgrown.  Deliver books to a kids play area, local shelter or children’s hospital.

4.  If your children attend public school you are sure to see lots of book orders!  Have your child select an extra book or two.  Request that your donation be used for a student who needs a pick-me-up.

5.  Host your own “book drive” and round up a nice collection of books from family and friends.  Deliver books to a retirement community or nursing home.

6. Locate a place in your community where you can volunteer to read to someone!  Share your voice.

If you are new here, 52 Smiles is a year long project were we intentionally do one out-of-the-ordinary act of kindness each week.

New Cards!

Cheerful Colors & Mini Envelopes & Tiny Ribbons— OH MY HAPPINESS!

I’m so tickled that the smashingly talented Christina Williams created these little lovelies for me.  Aren’t they cheerful?  I met Christina via Etsy almost four years ago?!  She is a design superstar and all-around amazing person.  You should see the Christmas cards she sends out every year. I really think she captured ’my’ style here.  THANK you so very much Christina!

Pie Smash

You can’t possibly do a clown week without a…

PIE – IN – THE – FACE – SMASH:

And I promise you…

if you are ever feeling down

all you need to do is put on a multi-colored WIG!

I swear you can’t possibly be grumpy

when you are wearing clown hair!

I may actually go to clown school when the kids are all grown up.  :)

Happy days to you!

Just back from Paris…

 I WISH!

Only it was this kind of Paris—–

We went to Vegas to celebrate my dad’s 70th BIRTHDAY!

It was grand spending time with my dad and his sweetie.  We had terrific laughs and tons of fun… but Vegas is Vegas–  glimmer and glam covering up some ugly and excessive trash.

Quick snaps from our trip:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!!!!!!!!  We love you {Vegas and all}!!!
